PTA Chair & Coordinator Descriptions

President – Oversees the administration of the Clinton Township Parent Teacher Association.

Vice President – one per school. Acts as a liaison between the school and PTA; assists PTA President.

Treasurer – Manages all financial aspects of the PTA, including accounting and check writing.


Recording Secretary – Takes, types, and distributes minutes at all PTA meetings.  Prepares final copy with President's signature for archival.

Corresponding Secretary – Manages all external correspondence and monthly meeting notices.  Member should be proficient with bulk email programs, Facebook and other social media.

Parliamentarian – Responsible for implementing Robert’s Rules of Parliamentary Procedures at all PTA meetings and providing guidance regarding the PTA by-laws.



Accounts Receivable Coordinators – Count/deposit all PTA money and provide cash-room support at all PTA fundraisers.

Activities Coordinators – Per school and/or grade. Coordinate PTA activities such as Bingo Night, Back to School Pizza, etc.

Artsonia – Help promote and coordinate the Artsonia fundraiser – an online school art gallery which features our students’ artwork.  Work with Art teachers to photograph students’ work and upload photos. (Periodically throughout year)


Book Fair Team – Be part of the team that organizes and manages Book Fair in October.

Bulk School Supply – Be part of the team that coordinates the ordering and distribution of school supplies to students that choose to participate. (May, Aug/Sept)

Clothing Drive – Coordinate arrangements for collection of used clothing and toys. (November & May)

Educational Enrichment  – Plan and coordinate all cultural arts assemblies with school principal and enrichment teachers.  (June-September)


Family Portrait Fundraiser – Organize the schedule for the fall Family Portrait fundraiser and act as liaison to photographer. (Sept/Oct)


Gallery Time – Chairperson maintains the Gallery Time cart and schedules presentation themes.  School coordinators arrange presentation schedules with each teacher and schedules parent volunteers.


Gift Wrap/Fall Fundraiser – Join the team that manages our Fall Fundraiser. (Sept-Nov)


Holiday Secret Shoppe – Be part of a team that coordinates and manages the Holiday Secret Shoppe. (First Saturday in December)


Homeroom Coordinator – Coordinate and oversee administration of homeroom parent responsibilities.


KidStuff Coupon Book – Be part of a team that runs the KidStuff Coupon Book fundraiser. (Oct/Nov)


Membership Team– Oversee the administration of membership cards. Also act as liaison to NJ State PTA.  (Mostly Sept/Oct)

Newsletter – Compile and edit information provided by the PTA to create a quarterly electronic newsletter.

Read to Succeed – Oversee and organize this free reading program sponsored by Six Flags for K - 6th grade. Distribute and collect tracking forms from students. Distribute tickets to students who participated.

Science Night Coordinator – Promote and coordinate Science Night activities. (March)


Spring Fundraiser (Gertrude Hawk) – Be part of the team that coordinates the Gertrude Hawk candy fundraiser. Candy is delivered in time for spring recess.  (Feb, Apr)


Spring Portrait Fundraiser – Oversee or work on the team that organizes and schedules the spring student portrait sessions.  (May)


Staff Appreciation Team – Be part of the team that organizes staff appreciation activities. (May)


Student Directory – Help compile, organize and distribute our student directory. Team members should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. (Aug-Oct)
