April 15 Letter to Parents

April 15 Letter to Parents
Posted on 04/15/2021

Dear Families,

Together, we are about to embark upon another transition. As always it is a “Team” effort. The CTSD Team is professional, talented, and together we have maintained the health and safety of our entire educational community.

Thank you to the families that respected the quarantine requirements for travel. Over 80 children remained home due to travel during the recess. On Monday, 4-12, our children experienced a full day of school, with lunch! All lunch protocols were implemented; protocols for cleaning and lunch distribution were followed. Students participating from Cohort C were greeted with enthusiasm. The faculty and staff are to be acknowledged for their continued outstanding and effective service to our children.

The CTSD measured response to this situation has been proven. The administrative team and the District Advisory Committee had developed these plans beginning last July. The brief “Yellow” designation for the Central West Region brought the plans forward. Our district did not react, we responded.

The current data, our continued monitoring of the county data, consultation with the DOH, and our districtphysician all indicate that the district will proceed with all students returning to in-person-learning on April 19, 2021. This combines our A & B cohorts, as well as students that have returned from the C cohort for the fourth marking period. Each of the building principals has posted information regarding their individual arrival and dismissal procedures. Transportation notifications have been provided as we adjust bus schedules to reflect the additional student passenger load. Please remember to complete the weekly lunch order form.

As our schedule has adjusted to the full day, please note that the teaching staff will not be able to host office hours during the afternoons. Additionally, we want to clarify that our expectation is that the C cohort students attend classes virtually. Attendance is not at the convenience of each family. The virtual platform is for students whose parents selected the virtual platform

We will continue to monitor all data and maintain information relevant to the situation. As always, we appreciate your continued support. It is all about taking care of our children.

Be well -

Johanna S. Ruberto, Ed.D.
Interim Superintendent
